The Indian government has introduced the eVisa as an electronic travel authorization available for citizens of over 160 countries, including Romania. This allows Romanian nationals to travel to India without the need to apply for a traditional paper visa.

Romanian nationals are required to obtain a visa to enter India unless they hold an Overseas Citizen of India registration certificate or a Persons of Indian Origin Card. Only citizens of 3 countries, Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives, can enter India without a visa. What Indian visa should Romanians apply for?

The eVisa for tourists grants Romanian travellers to explore India for up to 90 days. It also allows for multiple entries within its validity period of 1 year.

The business eVisa for India is also valid for 365 days, but its holders can reside in the country for a duration of 180 days in total.

The online visa for medical purposes is valid for 120 days, of which 60 can be spent in India.
